Retrofit Statistics - Are The Schemes Working?

As we well know, the Government incentivise and support the retrofit of domestic dwellings throughout the UK via a number of different schemes providing financial support in return for an upgrade on a wide range of energy efficiency improvement measures. 

In order to monitor effectiveness the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero publish regular (monthly) statistics relating to energy efficiency as a whole and the impact the various schemes and initiatives are having on the drive towards net zero.

The main energy efficiency statistics the solid wall insulation industry needs to particularly monitor are as follows:
 

1: ECO - Household Energy Efficiency Detailed Statistics

Comprehensive statistics on the Energy Company Obligation (ECO), Green Deal (GD) and insulation levels. This monthly published report incorporates changes as set out in response to the user consultation of National Statistics on the Green Deal, Energy Company Obligation and Insulation statistics.

The headline releases present updates of ECO measures and quarterly updates of in-depth ECO statistics, carbon savings and the Green Deal schemes. The detailed report presents annual updates on in-depth ECO statistics and insulation levels:
 

2: Green Homes Grant / HUG Local Authority Delivery Statistics

Monthly released data on the Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery (LAD) and Home Upgrade Grant (HUG) schemes, including metrics on measure delivery and households. This scheme covers England only.

The statistics cover the LAD scheme from its launch at the end of 2020, and the HUG scheme from its launch at the start of 2022. The data included are 2 months in arrears. Currently, the statistics cover LAD Phases 1, 2 and 3, and HUG phase 1:
 

3: Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Statistics

Statistical releases of Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) statistics to monitor the installation of energy efficiency measures in domestic properties in England.

The tables provide analysis on the measures installed and households receiving measures with sstatistics providing analysis by measure type and geography.:
