ECO & Funding For Solid Wall Insulation

With ECO4 legislation now officially in place SWIGA have published a feature detailing all available grant funding streams in respect of solid wall insulation.

Included within this feature are the following:

Energy Company Obligation 4 (ECO4)
Time scales: July 2022-March 2026
Who does this apply to?: Properties with an EPC of E,F,G (72% Private low income & 28% Social housing)

Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF.wave2)
Time scales: competition launches in August 2022, bids need to be submitted by mid October 2022, Successful projects notified February 2023. Delivery will run to June 2025.
Who does this apply to?: Social Housing providers with properties with an EPC D, E, F, G.

Social Housing Net Zero Heat Fund (SHNZHF)
Time scales: Opens February 2022, closes March 2024, installation of measures required by March 2027
Who does this apply to?: Social housing providers with projects that will be delivered in Scotland

Green Homes Grant – (Local Authority Delivery Scheme; LAD3, Sustainable Warmth Competition)
Time scales: closes March 2023
Who does this apply to?: Private homeowners on low incomes (<£30k) or on means tested benefits, in gas heated properties with an EPC of E,F,G

Green Homes Grant - Homes Upgrade Grant (HUG, Sustainable Warmth Competition)
Time scales: closes March 2023
Who does this apply to?: Private homeowners on low incomes (<£30k) or on means tested benefits, in off-gas heated properties with an EPC of E,F,G

Home Energy Efficiency Programmes Area Based Scheme (HEEPS:ABS) Scotland only
Time scales: 2013 - Close date TBC
Who does this apply to?: the scheme is based on property eligibility criteria, refer to the local authority in Scotland for qualification criteria

Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) or Clean Heat Grant
Time scales: 26 May 2022 to April 2025
Who does this apply to?: Homeowners (England & Wales) of domestic properties and small non-domestic properties with: a current energy performance certificate (EPC), with no outstanding recommendations for loft or cavity wall insulation. Private landlords and second-home owners are eligible

Warm Homes Discount Scheme
Time scales: winter 2021 to 2022
Who does this apply to?: people on a “Low income”, in receipt of benefits or pension credit

Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV)
Time scales: April 2022 – Close date TBC
Who does this apply to?: This grant is for Commercial Landlords that rent, lease or manage residential properties. 

Green Heat Network Fund (GHNF)
Time scales: March 2022 to March 2025
Who does this apply to?: organisations in the public, private, and third sectors in England.
