About Us
SWIGA is the Solid Wall Insulation Guarantee Agency.
SWIGA is a 'not for profit' organisation, run by the industry, for the industry and dedicated to promoting quality in solid wall insulation systems and installation.
It was established to provide homeowners with an independent, uniform and dependable guarantee covering professionally installed external and solid wall insulation solutions. SWIGA’s role is therefore to provide domestic customers with an independent guarantee for solid wall insulation systems – these include external (EWI) internal (IWI) or hybrid (combination of EWI and IWI) solutions.
About SWIGA
The Solid Wall Insulation Guarantee Agency was first incorporated back in 2009. Today, it is headed up by Executive Director Andrew Champ. Andrew is well known in the industry for his passion and wealth of experience - much of which was gained from his 25 years with Rockwool where he worked in various roles including Head of Strategic Development, ETICS (external thermal insulation composite systems) Business Director and Marketing Director.
Andrew is supported by a volunteer board of directors made up of industry professionals and experts from all areas of the solid wall insulation market.
SWIGA Quality Framework
The SWIGA Quality Framework must be adhered to before a guarantee can be issued. It ensures that all stages of the work, from survey to design and installation are carried out by competent companies using skilled operatives and that it is guaranteed to meet both the stringent high standards of quality and the requirements of an independent third-party surveillance scheme.
The framework includes a detailed pre-notification process to check the correct system is being proposed for the building type, that any existing maintenance issues are identified and the system is installed by a trained and carded installer.
SWIGA Guarantee
The SWIGA guarantee provides homeowners, local authorities, energy companies and other specifiers with confidence that the installation will be completed following the robust procedures outlined within the Quality Framework and industry standards supported by third-party surveillance. It provides the security of an independent guarantee for periods of 10 or 25 years.
The guarantee is only available for work completed by registered SWIGA Installers who install SWIGA System Certificate Holders solid wall insulation systems in accordance with the SWIGA Quality Framework. It provides financial cover and additional peace of mind along with access to technical expertise in the event of any defect arising in the design, workmanship or materials.

Installation of solid wall insulation is a proven, reliable process and has been established for over 30 years. Specify a SWIGA registered solid wall insulation system, have it installed by a SWIGA accredited installer and you have complete peace of mind that you are getting quality in all respects and peace of mind that’s guaranteed.
SWIGA - Setting The Standards
Because SWIGA is focussed on competency, best practice and guaranteed solutions and installation it is natural for SWIGA to be involved in setting the standards. For this reason, SWIGA work closely with Government, training and regulatory bodies in order to agree, test, and publish the official standards in solid wall insulation.
Recently significant work and testing has been carried out on a robust solution for extending roof-lines where required, in a finalising a detail for below DPC and in supporting the review of the current PAS regulations and process.
SWIGA - Promoting Solid Wall Insulation Solutions
In partnership with INCA the Insulated Render and Cladding Association, the National Insulation Association and the wider industry SWIGA continue to promote the benefits of external wall insulation to the domestic market across the UK in order to help homeowners reduce their heating costs and carbon footprint and ultimately ensure the UK housing stock becomes more energy-efficient.

SWIGA Associate Membership is open to anyone involved in the specification of solid wall insulation systems in any way. So, if you have responsibility for social housing stock, if you are a private landlord, an architect, a consultant, an engineer, a main contractor or have any other professional interest then this FREE membership is for you. It gives you access to a wealth of knowledge and expertise to help you specify and manage any project which involves solid wall insulation.

- cover for all suitable properties up to and including three storeys in height
- guarantee may be carried over to subsequent owners or tenants of the property
